The project has a total investment of nearly VND70 billion (US$3.18 million), of which VND67 billion is from the corporation, and the remaining has been funded by the provincial People's Committee for site clearance.
The project launched in Thuan Chau district's Chieng Bom commune yesterday included the construction of electric lines of 35kV and 0.4kV and six transformer stations.
Nearly 3,000 households of four communes in three districts of Mai Son, Song Ma, and Thuan Chau, will benefit from the grid.
Chairman of People's Committee of Chieng Bom, Ha Van Dung said the project will help residents here to develop their economy as well as improve educational levels.
Some 232,200 households out of over 267,700 in the province have been using electricity.
It is expected that 8,300 more rural households will have access to electricity this year.
