The event was chaired by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phap and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh with the participation of US Ambassador in Vietnam, Ted Osius. The event concluded that restructuring of the whole agriculture sector would be vital if Vietnam wants to compete with other TPP member countries.
Production technology, as well as management will have to be improved to increase competitiveness. Furthermore, new policies will be issued by the government to help businesses. In addition, the US and other countries will assist Vietnam in adapting its legal system for TPP, the US ambassador claimed.
