During the meeting, the Deputy Governor spoke on Vietnam’s efforts to restructure the banking system and resolve bad debts over the 2011-2015 period, as well as the state bank’s monetary policies in the coming time. Jerome Powell praised Vietnam’s recent economic achievements and highlighted the Fed’s attention to Vietnam’s economic and financial developments. He hoped for more knowledge exchange opportunities between the two sides.
