Under this regulation, fishermen are provided new fishing vessels or can upgrade existing ones with support from the Government. In the central coast province of Quang Binh, 27 high-capacity fishing vessels have so far been constructed to support offshore fishing activities. Let’s see how this has helped the fishermen here.
Together with locally built wooden-hull fishing vessels, Quang Binh province iron-hull vessels from the northern province of Thai Binh, famous for its iron-hull ship-building industry. Quang Binh province is also taking steps to remove obstacles in implementing Decree 67 such as delayed design consulting, limited capital, and VAT refunds. They hope to soon complete these high-capacity fishing vessels to better support fishermen at sea.
