CPI rises 0.57% in March

VTV.vn - The General Statistics Office announced March’s CPI had increased 0.57% compared to February and 1.69% year on year.

This represented a 0.99% increase in CPI during the first quarter. Rising CPI in March was regarded as a surprise because prices often decline sharply after the Tet holidays, but surging prices of healthcare services and medicines contributed a 1.27% increase in CPI while the plans to increase school fees also pushed education costs up 0.66%. Meanwhile, other goods and services in the CPI basket all decreased in prices
