E10 petrol is compatible with more than 90% of vehicles currently in circulation, requires no engine modifications and can significantly reduce polluting emissions, according to a draft Government resolution aimed at removing bottlenecks and accelerating the rollout of the biofuel.

E10 biofuel has already been piloted by the two largest fuel distributors, Petrolimex and PV Oil, since August 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Hai Phong.
Petrolimex will initially offer E10 at 36 retail outlets across HCM City, while PVOIL will pilot the product at six sites – four in Hanoi and two in Hai Phong.
