Bach Ma National Park in Hue City has received 21 silver pheasants from Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
The 21 birds are among 44 silver pheasants successfully bred by the zoo. Zoo specialists are providing health checks and guidance on care and breeding. Bach Ma was chosen for its suitable climate, with camera traps confirming the species' presence in the wild. Snaring and the loss of forest habitats continue to threaten these rare birds.
The transfer aims to strengthen conservation and breeding efforts, with the long-term goal of releasing them back into the wild.
