In Episode 3, the Journey of Hope left a deep emotional impact on the audience and guests. The next stop on the Journey of Youth was the Tam Tiến Fish Market in Quảng Nam Province. On this leg of the journey, the characters used their reward money from the challenge in Episode 2 for the shopping challenge.
The day began at the Tam Tiến Fish Market at 3 a.m., when fishermen returned with their boats full of fish, shrimp, and squid. The market is bustling with buyers and sellers in the early morning. It was also the time when the 5 "old friends" immersed themselves in the bustling atmosphere of the market. Waking up at 4 a.m., the characters experienced and explored the market to fulfill the challenge called "Vị quê nhà" (Taste of Hometown). The two teams, Sâm Nhị Hồng and Thủy Đoàn, had the task of going to the market and cooking for the fishermen of Tam Tiến fishing village.
With the reward of 300,000 VND from the previous challenge, the Sâm Nhị Hồng team received an additional 300,000 VND from the program, but they have to complete the challenge within 60 minutes. Meanwhile, the Thủy - Đoàn team had only 300,000 VND, but they had 90 minutes to complete the challenge. Both teams quickly divided the tasks, chose the dishes to cook, and went to the market to complete the challenge of buying the ingredients.
Cooking on a wood stove in the middle of the fish market was an unforgettable experience for all 5 "old friends". Everyone was busy shopping and cooking with the enthusiastic support of the fishermen. The dishes from both teams were judged by the people of Tam Tiến fishing village to be delicious and to meet the criteria of the "Taste of Hometown" challenge. This challenge also marked the end of the long journey in Hội An, Quảng Nam. At the final dinner, the 5 "old friends" enjoyed delicious food and cheerful conversation.
The first leg of the trip ended and the 5 characters returned to their daily routines. Journalist Lại Văn Sâm and diplomat Lại Ngọc Đoàn made plans to hang out together, "muse" Thanh Thủy happily shared her journey on Có hẹn cùng thanh xuân (The Promise of Youth) with her daughter. Actors and folk artists Hồng Vân and Hồng Đào were busy preparing for a new performance. This was a period of "recovery" for the super-cool old friends, recharging for the upcoming journey with more interesting, vibrant, and anticipated challenges.
After returning from the first leg of the journey, People's Artist Hồng Vân and artist Hồng Đào quickly returned to the whirlwind of work, urgently preparing the musical Bông cánh cò (Stork Wing Flower) to be performed on Hồng Vân's stage at the Student Cultural House. However, a few days before the performance, a mishap occurred. Hồng Đào couldn't attend the performance due to health reasons. In this urgent situation, Thanh Thủy, the Youth Companion, stepped in to replace the artist Hồng Đào and save the day for People's Artist Hồng Vân.
At the end of the performance, a video clip showing artist Hồng Đào's reflections and the surprise appearance of "big brother" Lại Văn Sâm deeply moved People's Artist Hồng Vân. The reunion of the characters of Có hẹn cùng thanh xuân (The Promise of Youth) on Hồng Vân's stage after their journey created many touching and warm moments of friendship.
