VTV.vn - In the country's northern mountainous provinces, nearly 90% of households have not been able to recover from the devastating flood that struck two weeks ago. Currently, the most worrying issue is the pollution of water and the environment.

Van Chan District in Yen Bai Province is one of the localities that are suffering the most severe damage, with many water wells in the district filled with mud. This has led to the severe shortage of clean water. Many local households now have to rely on bottled water provided by local authorities.

The water shortage, coupled with environmental pollution, is increasing the risks of epidemic outbreaks including digestive and dermatological diseases, and sore eyes.

To combat this, the local healthcare sector is supporting residents by cleaning the environment and helping ensure a sufficient water supply.
