The price reached as high as 113,000 VND or 5 USD per kilo. This is the highest price ever recorded since 2015. Market researchers have attributed this to the reduction of shrimp supplies. The increased domestic prices for shrimp have also been another factor that's pushed export prices upwards. The Vietnamese shrimp sector recorded export turnover of 460 million USD within the first 3 months of the year. Despite an 8% reduction in quantity, Vietnamese shrimp producers only suffered a 0.6% decrease in value.
