Vietnamese shrimp exports to decline in Q4

by VTV428 October 2015 Last updated at 19:29 PM

VTV.vn - The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) recently announced that, despite a Q3 increase with 840.8 million USD in revenue, Vietnamese shrimp exports will decline in the last quarter of this year.

Due to the economic downturn, the demand for shrimp in Vietnam’s major markets including Japan, the EU, and South Korea have stagnated. The depreciation of some currencies also made shrimp prices tumble. VASEP predicted that shrimp exports in the last 3 months of 2015 will drop by 20-to-25%, with a total revenue of 800 million USD.
