Vietnam targets 17 million foreign visitors in 2018

Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien said Vietnam aims to catch up with top tourism countries in Southeast Asia including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia by expanding and diversifying promotion activities in key markets and working with airliners to increase the number of flights to major attractions such as Phu Quoc island, Da Nang city, and Hue city. Minister Thien said the sector will launch an action plan to implement Vietnam’s Cultural Diplomacy Strategy toward 2020 with a vision to 2030.
