VTV.vn - The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers sent a proposal on February 13th to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to recheck the import tax on Vietnamese tuna exported to Japan.

This move is aimed at reducing the import tax of Vietnamese tuna and other tuna products to 0% as currently experienced in Thailand and the Philippines.

Since 2013, Vietnamese tuna export turnover to Japan has continuously decreased. This decline is attributed to the high tax imposed on the Vietnamese tuna products compared to other ASEAN countries.
