Held jointly by Hue University with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the two-day event targeted to promote the process of forming and developing businesses, support startups and improve the startup spirit for students of member universities under the Hue University.
Dr. Truong Quy Tung, Deputy Director of Hue University, said that after two years of implementing startup activities among member universities of Hue University as well as in the system of colleges and intermediate schools in the Central Vietnam and Central Highlands, the movement has created a strong appeal from all walks of life. In Hue University, there have been nearly 50 events related to startup innovations held in the past two years, such as training courses, startup competitions, forums, talkshows, fundraising sessions and workshops.
Following the aforementioned successes, the Demo Day 2019 will continue promoting supporting activities, connections and links between organisations and startups in universities with research institutes, socio-political organisations and enterprises.
The programme features over 10 events with different topics in a hope to spread the startup spirit and innovation around the higher education environment, with the hopes of promoting startup and entrepreneurship among lecturers and students.
On the side-line of the event, was a conference to promote innovation startup ecosystem with the participation of representatives of Hue University's member universities and universities in the central region and the Central Highlands, innovative enterprises and relevant agencies, units and research institutes was opened in Hue city on December 21. Participants discussed startup innovation ecosystem development and shared experiences in building an innovative startup ecosystem in universities.
