The project was praised for its feasibility in helping countries in the region minimise the effects of floods and droughts, and the impact of climate change.
The group will be invited to attend a short-term training courses this August in Yushu, Tibet (China), which belong to the upstream area of the Mekong River, to continue developing the project. It is expected that the project will be a success with the guidance of the leading experts in Mekong River research.
