The Government Office has just issued Document No.6218/VPCP-KGVX conveying the PM’s direction on this issue.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, students in many provinces and cities around the country have been forced to enter the new academic year with online studying.
In order to deploy this form of learning, internet access and personal devices such as computers and smart phones are prerequisites.
However, many students who are living in difficult circumstances, especially those in remote and mountainous areas, cannot afford to purchase these personal devices. In addition, many mountainous regions are not yet covered by internet providers.
Meanwhile, the problem of overloaded transmission lines has occurred in major cities, causing inadequacies for the lessons.
Previously, the Government leader issued Directive No. 24/CT-TTg, dated September 3, 2021, on accelerating the implementation of measures for safe teaching and learning, ensuring the programme and quality of education and training amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the Directive, the PM asked the ministries, agencies, and localities to join hands to boost solutions to help students overcome all difficulties towards an effective academic year. In particular, the resources would be prioritised to assist disadvantaged students who do not have devices for online learning towards ensuring fairness in accessing new teaching and learning methods.
