Heavy rain for northern mountainous region

VTV.vn - The northern region of Vietnam will continue to face heavy rains for the next few days. Some mountainous areas may see landslides.

Heavy rains and thunderstorms in the northern region are forecast to last until June 30th. Some northern mountains localities in Ha Giang and Lai Chau provinces have experienced torrential rains, damaging crops, houses and transport infrastructure over the past few days. Landslides collapsed eight houses and blocked roads causing traffic jams in Ha Giang Province. Meanwhile, in Lai Chau, more than 200 houses have been damaged, nine households had to move due to risks of landslide and more than 27 hectares of farmland was flooded. Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Cao Bang and Bac Kan provinces are forecasted to face flashfloods and landslides in the next two days.
