Indian President Ram Nath Kovind made this statement when he delivered a speech at the plenary session of the 14th National Assembly's 6th meeting on the morning of November 20.
He said that visits are a vivid illustration of the sound relations between the two countries citing by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016 when both sides inked a historic agreement to upgrade their comprehensive strategic partnership.
He also said that his visit to Vietnam at the invitation of State President Nguyễn Phú Trọng was the very first to the country and the first to Asia since he took office in 2017. Regarding all-round cooperation, he emphasized that the two countries have enjoyed strong bonds with regards to the economy, politics, and people-to-people exchanges.
He described Vietnam and India as vibrant economies saying that two-way trade reached 12.8 billion US dollars in 2017. India is one of the ten largest trade partners of Vietnam and Vietnam and ASEAN play crucial roles when it comes to India's trade balance.
