The local community, especially the 30,000 households that live near the forests, have played a significant role in forest management and land use, with the support of the government.
Locals in many districts such as Huong Son, Vu Quang, Cam Xuyen, Can Loc, in Ha Tinh province, have changed crop structures and developed over 570 agro-forestry models on forest land with economic efficiency. Some 20% of the model has generated revenue of more than 25,000 USD. From now until 2020, Ha Tinh province will target 50% forest coverage.
