After five years of implementation since 2009, training and pilot programs were held to enable residents to draw natural disaster risk maps. As of the end of last year, more than 1,600 wards across the country have community-based natural disaster risk management.
The program is aimed at transforming vulnerable communities into those with a strong ability to prevent, adapt to, and recover from natural disasters.
