Foreign investors have bought 8.12 billion US dollars worth of shares in Vietnamese companies, which is almost twice as much as last year's figure. The acquisitions of foreign investors are huge and they're overwhelming new investment policies and increasing investment capital in active projects.
However, during the first half of this year, the disbursement of foreign direct investment projects reached $9.1 billion, an increase of nearly 8% compared to the same period last year. There were also changes in the structure of foreign investors in Vietnam as investments from South Korea and Japan is no longer in the top positions.
This shows that there's been strong movement of investment capital flows which requires Vietnam to change management and licensing policies to attract more FDI in the future.
