Ca Mau loses 400 hectares of coastal forests per year
VTV.vn - Ca Mau province, the southernmost tip of the nation, has been losing an average of 400 hectares of coastal protective forests per year.

Increasing erosion and landslides have worn into the coast line by about 15 metres and up to 50 metres inland. Ca Mau province has seen particularly serious cases of forest loss in coastal districts such as Năm Căn and Ngọc Hiển. With the increasing effects of climate change, a 100-centimetre rise in the seawater level would submerge nearly 60% of the area in Ca Mau, affecting more than 200,000 households.
