13 killed in HCM city condo fire

VTV.vn - A fire broke out in a condominium complex in Hồ Chí Minh City in the early morning of March 23rd, killing 13 people and seriously injuring 28 others.

Most of the deceased were killed due to suffocation or jumping from high floors. According to the city fire and police department, until now it's unclear whether anyone is missing.

The blaze started at around 1:30 am in the basement parking area between Buildings A and B of Carina Plaza located at Võ Văn Kiệt street, District 8.

An initial investigation found that the fire started from a motorbike in the basement parking lot, destroying a total of 13 cars and 150 motorbikes. The three buildings with more than 700 apartments was built six years ago in Vietnam's southern commercial hub.
