Vietnam Television (VTV) officially acquired broadcast rights for Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

VTV.vn - Summer Olympic Games – one of the biggest international multi-sports event, taking place every 4 years – is about to take place in Rio, Brazil. This year, Vietnam participates in the event with 23 athletes.

“As an official broadcast rights holder, VTV will bring our audiences remarkable moments, up-to-date information of the Games and especially the live coverage of football, volleyball, badminton, tennis and table-tennis”, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tien, General Director of Sports Department said.

“The competition of 23 Vietnamese athletes during the Games will be live broadcast as well as constantly updated through reportages and footages by VTV’s crew at sites. Apart from that, the audiences can also log-on www.thethao.vtv.vn or www.vtv.vn/the-thao.htm for more information, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tien added.

The Opening Ceremony of Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be live telecast from 17:45 to 21:30 August 6th, 2016 on VTV6 and VTV6HD. The time slot from 23:00 to 10:00 (of the next day) on these channels shall be allocated for the coverage of all sport competitions, starting from August 6th to August 22nd.   Men football will be live broadcast on VTV2 and VTV3 from August 5th to August 20th.
