Soc Trang bustles with Khmer Festival and Boat Race
VTV.vn - The second Ngo boat race has been hosted in November 24th to celebrate the Khmer people’s Ok Om Bok Festival in Soc Trang. The event has attracted thousands of people.

45 male teams and 8 female teams from 5 provinces in the region are taking part in the boat race. They come from Sóc Trăng, Bạc Liêu, Cà Mau, Hậu Giang and Trà Vinh.

The festival is known as the Moon worshipping ceremony, one of the most important traditional festivals of the Khmer people.

The boats participating are made of wood and are decorated with images of dragons, tigers, elephants, lions and peacocks representing the power of the boat.

The festival includes a wide range of activities such as a parachute performance, radio controlled aircraft performance and more. This is a chance for Soc Trang to promote tourism and introduce the culture of the province to visitors.
