Contest develops education apps

Last Saturday and Sunday, the very first education Hackathon contest, Edtech Asia, was held in Vietnam. 18 groups of contestants were required to develop an education app in 24 hours.

After only just a day, KID-REC a mobile app, developed by the two developers from HCM City became one of the best products. The app is designed for social and emotional learning in the form of a game specifically targeted at kids. The children have to interact with their parents to finish the quizzes.

The Edtech Asia Hackathon was co-organized by the Topica Education Group and Edtech Asia technological firm. The event is planned to be held annually with more contestants from South East Asia and the wider Asian region.
