HÀ NỘI — VietnamPlus, an online newspaper by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), officially launched its online Russian language version at ru.vietnamplus.vn in Hà Nội on Tuesday.
With this new version, VietnamPlus now runs its online versions in six languages, which are Vietnamese, Chinese, English, French, Spanish and Russian.
Addressing the launching ceremony in Hà Nội, VNA Deputy General Director Lê Quốc Minh emphasised 2020 was the year that Việt Nam and Russia celebrate the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
The Russian version of VietnamPlus was launched to enhance the traditional relationship between the two countries, Minh said.
He said the Russian language version of VietnamPlus serves as an important channel to distribute up-to-date and comprehensive mainstream information on Việt Nam's situation to Russian speaking readers around the world.
It will offer timely and accurate information about domestic affairs, the Party policies and guidelines, State laws and Việt Nam’s stance on regional and global issues, apart from images of Vietnamese culture, history and people, contributing to rejecting wrongful and distorted allegations on the Vietnamese situation.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation Konstantin V. Vnukov expressed that the Russian version of VietnamPlus will be a bridge to help people of the two countries to better understand each other.
Information on the Russian version of VietnamPlus will be well received by Russian readers as well as Vietnamese who know Russian languague and Russian-speaking community in Việt Nam, the ambassador said.
Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper Trần Tiến Duẩn said the newspaper will continuously strive to improve the quality of information, enhance the image of the country and people of Việt Nam to the world and act as a bridge to bring international friends to Việt Nam. — VNS
