Check out what is in the news today:Politics-- India will provide Vietnam with a credit line of US$500 million for defense cooperation, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced at a press conference on Saturday in Hanoi.Society-- Doctors at the 121 Military Hospital, based in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, confirmed on Saturday that they had saved a 52-year-old man from nearby Tra Vinh Province who had been hospitalized in a critical condition after being bitten by a tree snake in the tongue.-- The Central Power Corporation said on Saturday that Cham Islet, an emerging tourist destination off the central province of Quang Nam, has been connected with the national grid. A project worth nearly VND500 billion ($22.1 million) will begin supplying electricity to more than 3,000 islanders later this month.  -- More than 100 people at a nightclub located in Kien An District in the northern city of Hai Phong were taken into custody after police swooped on the venue early Saturday and seized a certain amount of drugs. Many of the arrestees also tested positive for illegal addictive substances.-- The Vietnamese Embassy in China confirmed on Friday that four Vietnamese fishermen, including 62-year-old Ho Thao, who had suffered brain trauma, are recovering well at a hospital in Hainan Province, China, and will be soon reunited with their families. Their relatives reported that they had been requested to pay VND400 million ($17,724) for treatment fees, meals and accommodation after Thao got critically injured in an accident on his ship, around 25 nautical miles off Hainan, in mid-July.-- Nine people were killed and 31 others were injured in 26 road accidents which occurred throughout the country on Saturday, the second day of the three-day holiday celebrating National Day (September 2), according to Vietnam's National Traffic Safety Committee.  -- Police in Hai Phong City said on Saturday that they were detaining two suspects for their involvement in a shooting happening at an intersection in Hong Bang District, killing a man on Tuesday.Business-- Samsung Vietnam announced on Saturday that they will cease sales of Galaxy Note 7 throughout the country following consumer complaints about the product’s batteries and the Seoul-based corporation is working with suppliers to solve the problem.
