Workshop aims to enhance access to markets for rural people

VTV.vn - A workshop was held in Hanoi on March 30 to review a project on enhancing access to markets for the rural poor through information and communication technologies (ICT)-based market information networks.

The event was held jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

According to the Central Coordination Office on New Rural Development, as of January 2022, there were 6,010 products qualified at three-star level for the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Programme.

The IFDA project has achieved a number of results such as collecting information and updating the database related to the OCOP programme’s products via the portal.

The IFDA Country Director for Vietnam Pichon Francisco said the project has fulfilled its mission of improving rural people’s knowledge about using technology as well as furhter information advances necessary to garner more information for life and production, especially e-commerce pilot models.

The project has contributed to strengthening the production and consumption of agricultural products, bringing many practical advantages to local farmers.
