VTV.vn - Stepping into its 8th year, "Women Are to Meant Be Loved" continues to prove itself as a favorite program among television viewers.

Now in its 8th year, the show has changed its format to  not only help ordinary women in crisis  heal but  to empower  them with renewed faith and motivation for the future.

Familiar But Not Old

With the theme of life and honoring Vietnamese women, Women Are to Be Loved introduces a new format called “You Have the Right to Be Happy” with a meaningful message: No matter who you are, where you are, or what you do, you have the right to be happy, and  being happy means having a peaceful and serene mind.

Editor Thanh Thúy (Education and Scientific Program Department, Vietnam Television) - a representative of the production team explained this change: "At the beginning of the 8th year, we thought of a format that would most effectively help women directly and support them psychologically. There are many ways to help. Some need material support, others need emotional support, but the common issue for women, whether rich or poor, in any social position, is that they all need help".

In Women Are Meant to Be Loved, editor Thanh Thúy continues her role as the host, guiding the characters' stories. Notably, she is joined by writer and journalist Hoàng Anh Tú,   former editor-in-chief of Hoa Học Trò magazine and now one of the most influential bloggers among women.

Editor Thanh Thúy and journalist Hoàng Anh Tú host the program.

In addition to the two main hosts, the show also features an "emotional presenter" throughout the program, using music that reflects the ups and downs of the characters' emotions. This inspires the characters and hosts and provides a richer emotional experience for the audience.

To support and address the issues faced by the women featured on the show, the production team has brought in an expert in   psychological therapy.

Innovating for Greater Reach

The program Phụ nữ là để yêu thương (Women Are Meant to Be Loved) accompanies and supports ordinary women in overcoming difficulties and life challenges. The show aims to give viewers a positive energy of resilience and overcoming adversity, encouraging them to draw their lessons. The message to all women is, "You have the right to be happy."

The program allows the characters to wear a mask to help them feel comfortable sharing their stories. They can choose to keep it on until the end or remove it at moments when they feel emotionally unburdened.

The characters in the show are masked so they can feel comfortable sharing their stories. At the end of the program, they can choose to reveal their identities or remain anonymous.

After sharing their stories and receiving  expert  advice on how to overcome their obstacles, the characters undergo a makeover with the help of renowned hair stylist Huyền Hương and receive a new outfit from a Vietnamese designer.   Research has shown that when women encounter certain issues, the first thing they want to  do is change their clothes and hairstyle. Therefore, the program included a makeover segment for the characters.

Music is also an emotional highlight of the program.

With a broadcast  time of only 30 minutes, the recording time is usually ten times longer, ranging from 4 to 5 hours. This extended time allows the characters to immerse themselves  and feel truly heard and understood . It is a process where the hosts and editors guide them with questions, allowing them to gradually open up and not feel hindered by the space, lighting, or other factors that might make them feel unsafe to share their stories.

With the program Women Are Meant to Be Loved - “You Have the Right to Be Happy", we want to convey the message: "Women always deserve to be respected and loved. When a woman is happy, her whole world becomes happier. Her children, her family, and her husband will all benefit from the joy and positivity that a happy woman brings".
