With Sao Mai's Return, fans are excited to see what the future holds for contestants

This information was confirmed by representatives of Vietnam Television's Arts Department, the unit responsible for producing the Sao Mai competition. The  renowned television music contest, known for its rich history and prestige, will officially return this September with a completely redesigned format and several significant changes.

Continuing the Journey with a New Identity

Throughout its mission to  spot  new musical talent in Vietnam, Sao Mai has become a gathering place for gifted singers from all regions of the country. The competition has provided a platform for these emerging artists to gain recognition and shine on the national television stage. Many contestants who emerged from Sao Mai have gone on to build successful careers and establish strong positions within Vietnam’s music industry.

With its return in 2026, the Arts Department is introducing a comprehensively revamped version of Sao Mai. The competition will feature a newly restructured format designed to meet the expectations of modern audiences while remaining faithful to its core mission of identifying  and cultivating  genuine musical talent in Vietnam.
