Watch the 2026 Oscars Live on VTV3 (5:30 AM, March 16)

The 2026 Oscars - one of the most  highly anticipated cinematic events worldwide - will be brought to VTV audiences early on the morning of March 16 on VTV3 and the national digital television platform VTVgo. To enhance the viewing experience, the live broadcast will include real-time Vietnamese commentary covering the award presentations and the host’s   interactions.

A new feature for viewers following the Oscars 2026 on digital platforms is the language selection option. When watching the live broadcast on VTVgo, they can choose between   live Vietnamese  commentary   and the original English audio. This feature aims to optimize the viewing experience and allow audiences to enjoy the world’s biggest film event however they prefer.

The ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, USA, and will be hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien. This marks the second consecutive year   that he has taken on this role at the Academy Awards organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

The nomination list showcases  a strong  focus on storytelling and technical production. Leading the pack is the horror-drama Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, with 16 nominations. Close behind is One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, with 13 nominations. Other films such as Frankenstein, Hamnet, and Bugonia are also featured across many major categories.

Several prominent stars are competing for   the Best Actor statuette , including Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), and Robert Aramayo (I Swear). Film experts note that this year’s race is particularly competitive, especially in the Best Actor category, where veteran performers face strong competition from rising stars. Meanwhile, the Best Actress category features acclaimed actresses such as Emma Stone (Bugonia), Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), and Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You).

Notably, this year marks the first time in Oscar history that the Academy introduces a new category: Best Casting Design. This addition recognizes the important role  that casting professionals play in selecting actors who best embody characters and contribute to a film’s overall success.
