The Foreign Service Television Department of Vietnam Television will launch “View from Hanoi” on VTV4 at 7:45 PM today, June 21. Designed to serve as a reliable, official, and insightful source of information, the program will provide viewers with accurate and relevant content in an era of information overload, where misleading and false viewpoints often proliferate. “View from Hanoi” will analyze current political and economic issues in depth.
The program is expected to become a regular source of updated information and systematic analysis, offering fresh perspectives to help explain major political, economic, and social issues in Vietnam and internationally. With the participation of well-known scholars and respected political theorists, the program aims to provide viewers with a broader frame of reference and a clearer understanding of a steadily developing Vietnam with strong public support.
The first episode features Associate Professor Dr. Do Canh Thin, Deputy Director of the Institute for Non-Traditional Security.
Speaking as a guest in the debut episode, Associate Professor Dr. Do Canh Thin said: “To me, ‘View from Hanoi’ is a program that opens up different perspectives on real issues, not only in Vietnam but around the world as well. These include not only political and social matters, but also security and economic development issues.”
As the program is broadcast on VTV4, Vietnam Television's international channel, “View from Hanoi” targets Vietnamese people living far from their homeland. For these communities, the program will be a trusted source for accurate, official, and direct updates from Vietnam.
“In my view, for Vietnamese people living far from their homeland, ‘View from Hanoi’ serves as an information channel that gives them a broader and deeper understanding of Vietnamese people, Vietnam's national construction and development, and the way Vietnam approaches contemporary global issues. Through the program, overseas Vietnamese can gain more trust, understanding, and love for their homeland, while also strengthening their sense of responsibility toward Vietnam, the places where they live, and global issues. That is truly meaningful”, said Do Canh Thin.
The first episode of “View from Hanoi”, airing on Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, will present evidence and analysis to refute false information about press freedom in Vietnam.
Amid a complex online environment rife with misleading information, the program acts as an authentic lens through which Vietnamese people overseas can stay connected to current political and economic developments at home. The program also aims to strengthen trust in a stable, developing, and forward-looking Vietnam. “View from Hanoi” is expected to become a sharp political lens, helping analyze hidden aspects, decode the flow of current affairs, and affirm Vietnam's stable and growing position in the international arena.
“View from Hanoi” will air at 7:45 PM every Sunday on VTV4.
