The event marked a new milestone in the cooperation between the two parties, with the goal of jointly building breakthrough solutions for digital transformation and the development of technical infrastructure in Vietnam.
Working session between VTV and CMC senior leaders
Speaking at the meeting, General Director Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized that VTV, as the national television broadcaster, is entering a phase of redefinition—still creating television content for viewers, but shifting focus from managing infrastructure, platforms, and content to concentrating on its core strength: content production.
VTV General Director Nguyen Thanh Lam shares VTV’s vision at the meeting
He also shared his vision of turning VTVgo, the national digital television platform, into a "super app" that provides a variety of content and utility services. Currently, VTVgo has over 50 million downloads and installations, with around 8 million regular users on both mobile devices and smart TVs, becoming a trusted "companion" in Vietnamese households.
In December 2024, VTVgo was officially recognized as a Government app on Google’s Play Store. Since early 2025, smart TVs produced and distributed in the Vietnamese market have included a dedicated VTVgo button on remote controls. Previously, major TV manufacturers in Vietnam agreed to pre-install the VTVgo app on smart TV interfaces to promote the national digital television platform.
Deputy General Director Dinh Dac Vinh has high expectations for the collaboration with CMC.
Currently, VTVgo has a great opportunity to evolve into a platform that not only supports e-commerce but also becomes an ecosystem offering both content and utility services. According to the General Director, what VTVgo seeks is the ability to distribute content and channel packages across different platforms, applications, and business models.
Pham Anh Chien, Deputy Director of the VTV Digital Center, introduces the National Digital TV Platform VTVgo.
Moreover, VTV is exploring virtual telecom models linked to content, as well as other business models where content plays a central role.
"The future of VTV lies in digital platforms. Therefore, VTV is looking for a strategic partner with similar motivations and a willingness to innovate boldly” General Director Nguyen Thanh Lam said.
Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CMC Technology Group, expressed his belief that cooperation between VTV and CMC will leverage both parties’ strengths, leading to a promising future for both.
Nguyen Trung Chinh – Chairman of the Board, CMC Group – strongly believes in the partnership strategy with VTV
"Openness – Connection – Cooperation has always been CMC’s philosophy. We lead with technology, and our principle is openness to collaboration, always respecting and sharing the benefits with all parties. We have great faith in this strategic partnership" – Chairman of the Board, CMC Group emphasized.
With VTV's vision of platform diversification rooted in content strength, and the technological support from CMC, Mr. Chinh believes that both sides can unlock opportunities to reach end-users through a B2B2C (Business to Business to Customer) model.
Digital transformation is not just a trend but an imperative in today’s technology-driven world. As a national broadcaster tasked with delivering timely and accurate information, VTV must quickly adopt advanced technologies and synchronize its infrastructure based on digital platforms to enhance operational efficiency and quality of service to viewers . To realize this goal, cooperation with leading technology partners such as CMC Technology Group is essential.
The companionship of partners not only provides VTV with optimal technological solutions but also brings valuable experience, knowledge, and innovative capability. This is the key for VTV to lead in the media sector and effectively respond to the challenges and opportunities of the digital era.
