Vinh Airport planned to have capacity of 14 million passengers in 2050
The current capacity of Vinh Airport is 3 million passengers a year.
VTV.vn - The capacity of Vinh International Airport in Nghe An Province will increase to 8 million passengers by 2030 and 14 million by 2050, under a development plan recently approved by the Ministry of Transport.

Specifically, Vinh Airport will achieve 4E classification according to ICAO standards, with the capability of accommodating code C aircraft, such as A320/A321, and as well as code E aircraft, such as B747, B777, B787 and A350.

The planned cargo capacity will increase to 25,000 tonnes by 2030 and 35,000 tonnes by 2050.

For the 2021-2030 period, the existing T1 passenger terminal will be expanded to reach a capacity of 5 million passengers, while a new T2 passenger terminal is planned for construction between the two runways with a capacity of 3 million passengers.

By 2050, the T2 passenger terminal will be expanded to reach a capacity of 9 million passengers, bringing the total airport capacity to around 14 million passengers.

The runway systems, taxiways, air traffic control tower and other facilities are also planned for modernisation, corresponding to the operational capacity.

Regarding aircraft parking, in the 2021-2030 period, the existing aircraft apron will be expanded to accommodate approximately 15 parking positions for code C aircraft, while the aircraft parking area at the T2 passenger terminal is planned to accommodate approximately 10 aircraft parking positions.

With a vision to 2050, the aircraft parking area at the T2 passenger terminal will be expanded to accommodate approximately 29 aircraft parking positions.
