Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry names new spokesperson

She served as deputy spokesperson to replace spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang after the latter was named Deputy Foreign Minister in December 2022.

Pham Thu Hang has been with the Department of Press and Information for many years, having extensive experience in working with the domestic and foreign press.

During the 2017-2020 period, Hang served as a political counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington DC.

With the latest appointment, Pham Thu Hang becomes MOFA’s fifth spokeswoman, with the other four being Ho The Lan, Phan Thuy Thanh, Nguyen Phuong Nga and Le Thi Thu Hang.
