Vietnamese students win big at WMTC 2017 - The 8th World Mathematics Team Championship 2017 (WMTC 2017) just recently ended in Thailand after two days of fierce competition.

Every member of the Vietnamese team managed to snag a medal at the event. The team consisted of 38 contestants, all of whom are students in primary and secondary schools. 19 members won gold medals. Trần Gia Bảo from Giảng Võ Ba Đình Secondary School was the secondary level champion, while Vũ Minh Châu was primary level's biggest winner. The competition this year attracted 134 teams from 21 countries and territories. Team Vietnam won 27 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.
