Within the congress, 50 official delegates representing around 400 members and Vietnamese students studying and living in the Buddhist country elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in India for its first term.
Attending the congress were Nguyen Thanh Hai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to India, concurrently accredited to Bhutan and Nepal; representatives of the Party Committee, the Vietnamese Embassy, and Vietnamese associations in India; together with the 50 official delegates.
At the first session, the congress consulted and elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in India for the 2025–2027 term.

To date, the overseas network of the Vietnamese Students’ Association has expanded to 15 associations with more than 150,000 members and students. The establishment of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in India has increased the total number of associations to 16.
"This is an important milestone, reflecting the growth of the Vietnamese student movement abroad, while meeting the legitimate aspirations of the Vietnamese student community in India for an official representative organisation," Lam Tung stressed.
