Jointly organised by the Ministries of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and Laos, the annual event serves as a bridge for promoting trade ties and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Vietnamese businesses have brought their outstanding products to the fair including pharmaceutical products and medical equipment, industrial machines and construction materials, garments and textiles, and agro-fishery-forestry products. Many products have been received with great appreciation by Lao consumers.
"Vietnamese products are beautifully designed and of high quality. I especially like the Vietnamese noodles and confectionery", said Phouthason Sengdala.
"In this year’s trade fair, the design and quality of Vietnamese products are better. Therefore, I will buy more than last year", said Sutcay Sibounhuong.
Attending the Vietnam-Lao Trade Fair 2016, Vietnamese businesses not only have the opportunity to brand their products in Laos, but also to explore the market and establish distribution networks in Laos and the northeast Thailand region. On the day of the opening ceremony, many Vietnamese enterprises accomplished these goals.
"I have participated in this fair for many years and I think this market is very suitable for ceramic and craft products. This year, we also found a partner. We consider Laos as a gateway to northern Thailand and the surrounding markets", said Ha Thi Vinh - Director of Quang Vinh Ceramic Co., Ltd.
"This is the 5th time we have participated in this trade fair. As with every year, one-third of about 30 enterprises found business partners. This year, there are 26 businesses participating in the fair. Our target is for 50% of businesses to find partners by the end of the fair", said Mai Thi Thuy - Chairman of Hanoi Women Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.
According to the organisers, the VIETLAO EXPO 2016 will remain open to visitors until July 11. This year's fair sees the participation of more than 200 enterprises, showcasing their products at 300 booths, including 120 booths of 98 Vietnamese enterprises.
