Vietnamese-owned hotel in Berlin offers rooms to immigrants

Germany is among the most popular immigration destinations in the world. Amid waves of immigrants flocking to the country, the German government is providing accommodations by covering hotel expenses. 

Cornel, his wife and four kids are immigrants from Romania. Their life turned a new page when the Berlin government arranged a full-service apartment for them at Xuan Thu House.

With 64 beds, this hotel has rooms of all sizes, catering to both individuals and families. This was once the home of Vietnamese living on German social welfare. However, a third of its rooms now serve Eastern Europeans.  

This hotel room is no different than an ordinary apartment, where daily rent would be 50 EUR per person; however, rent here is 50 percent less. This is to assist the city government and immigrants.

Hotels owned by Vietnamese in Germany are not common because initial investment is high. Such hotels, however, show the efforts of Vietnamese people to integrate and contribute to their host country.
