The Vietnamese fresh lychees have reached seven international markets, including the UK, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Laos, and Cambodia by air. Vietnam Airlines has also transported nearly 1,300 tonnes of lychee across the domestic market.
In addition to road, sea and rail, the demand for lychee export by air in 2023 is expected to soar by 50% compared to 2022.
With many years of experience in transporting lychees domestically and internationally, Vietnam Airlines had made specific shipping plans for this agricultural product before its main season.
“This is the effort of Vietnam Airlines as well as provinces and the related agencies to stand side by side with farmers to promote lychee consumption. In the coming time, Vietnam Airlines will continue to accompany localities and businesses to bring Vietnamese agricultural products and brands to the international market,” said a representative of Vietnam Airlines.
Vietnam Airlines also has policies to prioritise the transportation of Vietnamese agricultural products abroad to ensure the quality and freshness of the products.
