VTV.vn - The ‘Vietnamese days in Saint Petersburg’ programme is taking place from May 13 to 19 in the city of Saint Petersburg, Russia, coinciding with the 132nd birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (1890-2022).

For the first time, the Palace Bridge was illuminated in red and yellow colours, representing Vietnam’s national flag, from 22:15 on May 17 to 2:15 on May 18 to celebrate the occasion.

Under the programme, flower offering events were held on May 19 at President Ho Chi Minh’s statue in the city of Saint Petersburg and at the Saint Petersburg University. A cannon at the Peter and Paul Fortress will fire in the afternoon to mark the occasion.

A ceremony celebrating President Ho’s 132nd birth anniversary will be organised in both online and offline formats in the evening the same day, attracting the participation of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, young Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) people in Saint Petersburg, and OVs in Russia.

Earlier, forums on boosting Vietnam – Russia cooperation in tourism and high-technology were also held within the framework of the programme on May 17 and 18.
