VTV.vn - So far, Typhoon Hagibis has cost at least 35 lives in Japan and 20 people are still missing.

Two Vietnamese citizens who are crew members of a Panamanian cargo ship are in distress. After the ship sank in Tokyo Bay on Oct 12th, sailor Phạm Văn Đức (born 1986), was saved by the Japan Coast Guard force while Nguyễn Văn Trì (born 1987) is still missing.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan immediately contacted the Japanese authorities and was informed that no casualties had been reported among the Vietnamese community in Japan apart from the aforementioned crew members.

The Embassy has published a hotline for emergencies on its website and instructed a group of nine Vietnamese workers stuck in Fukushima to get help from local authorities and a group of seven Vietnamese tourists in Tokyo to find shelter.
