Vietnamese Beauty: full of colors - flavors - tastes of Tet

Tet is the joy of children when they can go out and play with a new shirt. Tet is the hustle and bustle of grandmothers and mothers. Tet is the familiar taste of dishes that have been there for many generations, but every time I think about it, I still feel nostalgic. Tet is a sacred time to light incense sticks to offer to the deceased. Or Tet is when you return to the warm reunion of your family. Tet is when? The question seems simple, but each person has their own answer, a memory, a unique feeling.

The program Vietnamese Beauty in 2023 makes the audience feel the taste of Tet through Tet customs. The program consists of the following parts: Watching Tet Flowers, Wearing New clothes, Going to temples, Looking for Tet Fragrance, Tet Food, Remembering the Origin and Going Back.

In Part 1 Watching Tet Flowers, Miss Ngoc Han talked with craftsman Nguyen Viet Bac to better understand the daffodil hobby. Then, she took a spring trip and learned about peach blossom cultivation in Nhat Tan.

In part 2 "Wearing New Clothes", the program production team went to Trach Xa village (Hoa Lam commune, Ung Hoa district, Hanoi), a village where people are engaged in sewing. This is where the whole village sews but the sound of sewing machines is rarely heard. The quilted cotton jacket is associated with memories of the old New Year when it used to be a prized item in the cabinets of mothers and grandmothers. The soft and warm cotton jacket was also the dream of many children.

Part 3 "Going to the Temple", there is happiness that has come in the old year, but there are also unfulfilled wishes for the year to come, so people send their wishes to the blue sky through the temple door, through the smoke of incense.

The next part "Looking for Tet Fragrance": Incense sticks play the most important role in worship rituals. TV host Minh Trang went to Cao incense village, Bao Khe commune, Hung Yen city, Hung Yen province to learn about the special characteristics of incense here.

In Tet Food, TV host Phuong Nga met with culinary artist Nguyen Phuong Hai to cook a Tet food tray.

The Tet food tray is made in a very delicate and meticulous way, sometimes it also shows women's talent for housework.

Part 6 "Remembering the Origin": The most important and sacred thing in every Vietnamese house, especially during Tet, is the altar to worship ancestors. Vietnamese people look up to the altar to remember their roots and lineage.

The Vietnamese Beauty 2023 ends with the song "Going Back" full of emotions. For parents, Tet is when they see their children return home.
