VTV.vn - In order to prevent illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in foreign waters, Vietnam has started regulating aquatic resource exploitation diaries in the South Central region.

Fishermen are now required to specify the time and location of their fishing activities. With this information, the authorities can control the fishing routes and origins of fish more easily. Thanks to good supervision, 4 large fishing ports in Phú Yên have carried out origin inspections for around 1,000 tons of aquatic resources and have confirmed the origin of over 234 tons of fish that are to be exported. With this regulation in place, the authorities of Bình Định and Phú Yên now have an easier time preventing IUU fishing in the area.
