Vietnam to fulfill UN’s recommendations on ensuring human rights

VTV.vn - November 12th, 2013 marked a milestone for Vietnam when the country was elected to the United Nations’ Human Rights Council during the 2014 – 2016 term.

At Vietnam’s review session on its human rights implementation at United Nations last year, the country received over 200 recommendations to improve its situation. Ever since, the government has made many efforts to implement these recommendations. In this week’s Vietnam in close-up, let’s see what changes have been made in 2 of the most common suggestions: the rights of LGBT people and freedom of expression.
