Typhoon No. 10 (Bualoi) has caused severe damage across many provinces nationwide, leaving 51 people dead, 14 missing, and 164 injured. Nearly 350 houses were destroyed and more than 172,000 homes were damaged or lost their roofs. Around 66,000 houses were flooded. The totalcost of the damage is estimated at over 15.86 trillion VND, with Ha Tinh being the hardest-hit locality, having suffered approximately 6 trillion VND worth of damage.
On the morning of October 8, the VTV Trade Union and the Vietnamese Loving Heart Fund jointly organized a launch ceremony for the “Support for People Affected by Typhoon No. 10 (Bualoi)” fundraising campaign to express solidarity and provide timely assistance to those affected by the disaster.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh, VTV's Deputy General Director and Trade Union Chairman, emphasized: “As journalists and broadcasters, we not only report on losses and damages but also carry a social responsibility, to spread the spirit of compassion and mutual support through concrete actions. Today’s contributions are not merely material donations but t also heartfelt messages of love and empathy, helping our fellow citizens in disaster-hit areas overcome hardship, rebuild their lives, and restore production”.
Immediately following the ceremony, VTV’s leadership team, staff, and employees enthusiastically participated in the donation drive. All funds and donated goods will be transferred by the For the Vietnamese Stature Foundation to people in the localities worst affected by the storm and floods.
