Vietnam reviews one year of Covid-19 vaccination

On March 8, 2021, medical staff in Hải Dương city administered the first vaccine dose to a frontline worker at the Hải Dương Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

One year on, the country has administered nearly 198 million vaccine doses and achieved a 98.7% coverage for its adult population.

Nearly 39% of adults have also received booster shots. Hải Phòng and Hậu Giang are two localities that have vaccinated 100% of children aged 12-17 with two doses.

Vietnam became one of 20 countries with the highest vaccination rates after it reached its goal of fully vaccinating its adult population at the end of 2021.
