Recent positive export statistics have shown that Vietnam products are currently seeking its position in the global market. However, Vietnamese products are still inferior to foreign products in the domestic market even though many Vietnamese products' quality is the same as the foreign ones.
Vietnam currently ranked third in terms of quality and ranked 2nd in terms of shoes and sandals export value globally. However, the domestic shoes market is occupied by foreign products (60%).
Consumer support is not enough to help made-in-Vietnam products regain the market, although many enterprises have invested heavily in producing and designing.
According to analytics, the selling and buying of famous brands to create reputation when joining the market is the choice of many businesses. However, this will be a disadvantage when Vietnam becomes an open market. Domestic brands are still considered inferior compared to foreign ones and will have a hard time competing.
