Vietnam kicks off 2017 APEC year

VTV.vn - As the host nation of this year's APEC summit, Vietnam will kick off a series of related events in the Central Coastal City of Nha Trang. For this reason, the government has emphasised the importance of the event's success.

The 2017 APEC Senior Officials Summit is expected to welcome 1500 delegates from 21 member countries of Asia-Pacific regions and major corporations.

The delegates will convene a total of 60 meetings for 38 different committees across different economic disciplines.

These meetings will cover emerging issues such as climate change, human resources and free trade. The event will run for 2 weeks between Feb 18th and March 3rd.
